The English Premier League begins its 2009-10 season this Saturday and one of the featured matches will Everton v Arsenal. The two teams have been finished last season at 4th and 5th respectively in the Premier League. Live coverage will begin about 15 minutes before kick-off.
Match Preview
Everton are one of the clubs looking to break into the top 4 this season but will need to prove their ready to take that step with the season opener against Arsenal. The Liverpool club has not made many changes from last season’s side and have been anchored by goalkeeper Tim Howard and defender Joleon Lescott. Arsenal has had several changes in the offseason, including losing Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure to Manchester City. The defense was solidified with the addition of Thomas Varmaelen but will Arsenal be able to replace Adebayor?
The first week of any league is hard to predict as most clubs have only played 5-10 matches in preseason. Everton has lost four of their last five season openers at home while Arsenal have not lost in their season opening match since 2000. Arsenal will struggle with Adebayor but still have enough quality to get a win. Everton are a solid team that plays disciplined football. It should be a close match between two solid teams but Everton has the advantage as Howard is a better goalkeeper Almunia.
So, who will win the match? Can Everton get off to a strong start and break into the top four or will Arsenal win on the road? Live coverage will begin about 15 minutes before kick-off.

Arteta is one of the unsung heroes in english football.
Hopefully Wilshere gets a run around.
Please continue to question our title run.
Go Gunners!
Howard is a better keeper than almunia hahahahahahahahaha… I love watching arsenal haters eat their words hahahaha
That was a shocking result for the Toffee’s and anyone who doubted Arsenal’s spot in the top 4 oughta be thinking twice me thinks.
My only regret is that I didn’t leave my Arsenal players in my fantasy football team! Took them out because they don’t play in the EPL midweek – gutted! Would’ve at least 10 more points!
