The Toffees have released the brand new Everton 2016-17 home kit on May 12, 2016, for the 2016-17 season. The new home jersey is made by Umbro and it features Chang beer as the club’s primary sponsor.

EVERTON 2016-17 HOME KIT DESIGN

Umbro have drawn inspiration for the new 16-17 home kit from the club’s spiritual home, Goodison Park. Located in Walton, Liverpool, the Goodison Park has been the home of Everton FC since 1892.

It is one of the world’s oldest purpose-built and most famous football stadia, hosting more top-flight games than any other stadium in England.

The new Everton 16-17 kit celebrates the home of the Blues and includes the co-ordinates of the ‘Grand Old Lady’ (Everton fans refer to the stadium by this name) in the back of the neck of the shirt.

Steeped in rich history, Goodison Park also features the famed criss-cross architectural signature of Archibald Leitch, who designed the Bullens Road stand.

We find that iconic design has been included on the new 16-17 Everton home shirt, with Umbro creating a Leitch-style graphic to appear above the co-ordinates of Goodison Park.

The Everton home jersey for 2016-17 is royal blue, featuring a white rib collar and contrasting white and yellow detailing on the cuffs.

The 16-17 shirt boasts the latest in technical innovation and includes a breathable structured mesh. Furthermore, it features a graphic embossed panel, on the lower front side and back of the shirt.

The shorts are white in colour and have a tailored silhouette with a blue and yellow trim, a subtle nod to the Umbro kit of 1997. White socks with a comfortable cotton footbed and a blue and yellow contrast stripe complete the kit.

EVERTON 2016-17 HOME KIT: PRICE, AVAILABLITY, REACTION

The replica shirt is priced on the official Everton online shop at £50. The long sleeved shirt is priced at £55, shorts are priced at £25 for adults and £20 for kids, and the socks £12. The full adult replica kit will cost fans £87.

Everton skipper Phil Jagielka commented on the new kit: “There’s nothing like playing at Goodison Park in front of our passionate fans and knowing you are following in the footsteps of some of the greatest footballers in the world. The nod to the stadium and its history in the kit is a great touch. I love the detail of having the co-ordinates on the neck of the shirt.”

Everton will wear the new 16-17 home kit on the club’s final game of the season against Norwich City at Goodison Park on Sunday 15 May.
