Euro 2008: England to play Andorra and Macedonia in September

Written by Ahmed Bilal. Tagged: England - Euro 2008

In 2 weeks time England will be kicking off their Euro 2008 qualifying campaigns against Andorra and Macedonia.

The match against Andorra is a home game at Old Trafford on 2nd September (Saturday) while the match against Macedonia is an away game on 6th September (Wednesday).

England are in qualifying group E, and have a relatively easy group comprising of:

Wayne Rooney will miss these two encounters as a result of his 2-match ban from the World Cup. Michael Owen is a long-term casualty (as is Dean Ashton), while Michael Carrick and Ledley King won’t be fit enough to be part of the squad either. On the other hand Joe Cole and Jamie Carragher could be fit, although whether Mourinho will allow Cole to join England after coming back from injury is another thing altogether.

Lineups, team news, match previews and reports to come.

These two are the only qualifiers for September - the next batch is in October. A couple of matches have already happened, and you can check out the results from here.
