Manchester City move to the top of the Barclays Premier League table with a 3-1 win over Southampton.

Jamie Vardy wrote his name in the history book after becoming the first player to have scored in 11 consecutive games in the Premier League.

Tottenham extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 13 consecutive games as they managed a 0-0 draw with Chelsea at White Hart Lane.

At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace came from behind to win 5-1 against Newcastle United. James McArthur and Yannick Bolasie scored twice each, as Alan Pardew enjoyed a comfortable victory against his old club.

Bournemouth twice came from behind to earn a point against Roberto Martinez’s Everton. Junior Stanislas scored a 97th minute equaliser to leave the home supporters in absolute delirium.

Sunderland move out of the relegation zone with their third win of the season after earning full three points against 10-man Stoke City.

Aston Villa 2-3 Watford

Another match. Another defeat. Aston Villa, with five points on the league table and sitting rock bottom, have equalled the league record for the lowest point tally after 14 games in a season. They are without a win in 13 league games and are eight home matches in the league without a win.

Bournemouth 3-3 Everton

Eddie Howe, the Bournemouth manager, said after the match:

“It’s unbelievable how football can play with your emotions. To score in the manner we did at the end was one of the biggest highs I’ve had in football. An incredible day, though this game is no good for your health! I’ll be having an early night tonight.”

It looked a comfortable afternoon for Everton, when Romelu Lukaku put the Toffees 2-0 up at half-time.

The home side came back strongly and restored parity with goals from Smith and Stanislas.

Everton thought they have sealed the match when Barkley scored in the 95th minute, but Bournemouth once again showed great fighting spirit to level at 97th min, with the last-gasp winner coming through Stanislas’ header.

Crystal Palace 5-1 Newcastle United

Papiss Cisse opened the scoring for the visitors from close range within 10 minutes. Palace responded quickly with two goals within next three mins from McArthur and Bolasie.

From there on, they had the complete dominance till the end, with Bolasie & McAuthur both adding their scoring tally and Zaha bagging a goal to his name to put Newcastle into the relegation zone.

Man City 3-1 Southampton

Kevin de Bruyne opened the scoring for City within first 10 mins after slotting home from Raheem Sterling’s cross. Delph added the second goal for the home side with a deflected shot.

Southampton pulled one back early in the second half through Shane Long. Kolarov scored in the 69th minute to earn full three points, but the result could have been different had Long’s penalty appeal (TV replay showed Fernandinho appeared to block Long’s shot with his arm) not been turned down.

Leicester City 1-1 Manchester United

This match will go down in the history book as Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy created a new record by scoring in 11 consecutive Premier League games. What an achievement!

United equalised before half-time through a header from Bastian Schweinsteiger, who scored his first goal for his new club. The dream run continues for Leicester as they become the joint-topper in the league alongside Manchester City, and are only separated by the goal difference.

Tottenham 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea kept their first clean sheet away from home since April after the Blues managed a 0-0 draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Check the match report here.

Liverpool 1-0 Swansea

James Milner scored from the spot to give Liverpool a hard earned 1-0 victory over Swansea at Anfield. The Reds jumped to sixth in the table, with only six points behind league leader Manchester City.

Norwich 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal wasted the opportunity to go level on points with Manchester City at the top after managing a 1-1 draw against Norwich City.

Mesut Ozil opened the scoring for the Gunners, after being set up by Alexis Sanchez, who took full advantage of a poor clearance from John Ruddy.

Just before the half time, the visitors were pegged back by Lewis Grabban, who got the better of Gabriel to fire in.
