I would have Gerrard or Essien in my team before Fabregas. Fabregas is young so in time he should develop into an even better player.

Michael Essien is a great player; it was such a shame that he was missing from the Ghanaian midfield against Brazil in the 2006 world cup.

The problem with Gerrard over the past 3 years is that his international performances have not been great. How much that is down to the tactical straight-jackets which has been imposed on him and much down to his own inability to make different systems work for him, only Gerrard will know.

Ronaldo on the other hand has been outstanding at club and international level, which is why he is so highly regarded at the moment by the European and world football community.

Who is better, Fabregas or Ronaldo? Players and informed observers (not partisan fans) believe Ronaldo to be the better player. This is why Ronaldo was voted into second place for European footballer of the year, and why he achieved both domestic player awards last season. Surely the guys who have to face Fabregas and Ronaldo on the pitch would have a better idea of who is better, than Joe Blogs or John Doe who trumpet their own club player on this website?

You can test it another way. Given the choice, which player would the next England manager most want if he could have only one of them: Fabregas or Ronaldo? I think he would plumb for Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a proven international, has a great strike rate for his country from midfield and probably possesses the greater ability to change a tight game, with his feet or head. With a spark of genius, Ronaldo can literally do it on his own. Fabregas is a fine player, but I get the impression that he is more dependent on the quality of the people around him to shine.

I also think that EPL, Champions League and international defenders and midfielders would rather face Fabregas than Ronaldo. Ronaldo on song must be a defender's worst nightmare. Big, strong, blisteringly quick, twinkling feet, full of tricks, great in the air, supremely confident and always coming back for more .....need we say more?

Cesc Fabergas is much better than C.Ronaldo overall. Cesc is much better defensively but is also excellent at going forward while C.Ronaldo is not as good as defensively and this makes Fabergas the better player overall

Disappointing from Boro... But, theres always room for optimism. Its a point away from home, and it could set Tuncay off on a run of goals. Maybe.
