		<description>Very interesting piece NJ and excellent questions addressed. I think the &#039;old issues&#039; (WW11)are fading with time and the evolution of the generations. More and more, as you suggest, the rivalries are caused by more recent &#039;battles&#039; on the field and grudges resulting from elimination in competitions. 
The presence of players from the team you support in the opposition line-up most definitely is a factor too. We&#039;re all affected by our biases and loyalties and its an ever changing picture as the new generations roll in.
I&#039;m not English or German but still found this a very worthwhile article. Kudos!</description>
