I've read endless articles on the subject and 100's of squad suggestions but I can't say that any come as close to my own view as that. I still question Heskey, but it seems to be one of those things that defies logic. As you say though, Neil, the next 8 months will undoubtedly shape the jigsaw in a different way for a number of reasons, some good and some bad. I think that the best thing in England's favour is the demise of so many other 'contenders': Italy, Portugal, France, Argentina. Maybe....just maybe....if the press and the fans back-off a little in terms of expectation, they might just surprise (in the positive sense) for once. World Cup fever has truly taken over.
