Robinson’s game is technically flawed – he’s a good keeper but not the best in England.

the ‘suggested’ lineup was because a) we could beat Estonia with that team and b) the stars need to be fresh for the Russia game.

Of course, no chance of something like that happening

Now, so much is wrong with that. Not only will Estonia probably not have a line-up like that, it is highly unlikely that it will happen.

Surely we’d be better given Robinson some England experience back, just to check he won’t make amateur club mistakes internationally? And Neville, Lescott, Campbell and Shorey stand no chance of starting. Same goes for Downing – why play the natural left winger when Joe ‘the pony’ Cole could come and do some stepovers instead?

We’ll play a strong team against Estonia to avoid embarrassment. I’m holding judgement on the Russia game for now.

And I must apologise – my worst ranting somehow ends up directed at England.. the international break is bad for me.
