England 3 - Andorra 0, but I’m still not impressed
After serious grilling by the English media, the English team has finally stepped up it’s game and won it’s first match in 6 games. However, I for one am less than impressed, here’s why.
1. It took a whole 54 minutes for them to beat the Andorran ‘keeper Koldo. It’s Andorra, it shouldn’t take that long
2. The people who scored, look at the names, Gerrard (2) and Nugent. Where’s the striking ability of our two starting strikers? England should have started Nugent instead of Johnson.
3. McClaren knew that Micah Richards had a prior injury yet still played him and now has to deal with another injured full-back.
All in all I feel that this win does nothing to help the English team, I mean it is Andorra, they’re ranked 163rd in the world currently and England just weren’t emphatic enough in their win. The one thing that I hope Macca takes away from this game is that Gerrard works best by himself, not with Lampard in his way.
This game just proved what everyone has said before, DROP LAMPARD. If not for his injury Macca wouldn’t have had to play Gerrard as an attacking Midfielder, and Gerrard wouldn’t have had scored two goals. For the next game, if Neville’s not back yet I say that knock on wood, if everyone stays fit, it should be
Robinson
Carragher, Ferdinand, Terry, Ashley Cole
Lennon, Gerrard Downing
Nugent
What do you guys think?

- Euro 2008: England to play Andorra and Macedonia in September
- England 5-0 Andorra - pointlessness wins the day
- Estonia 0-3 England - Sir David Beckham & Goal Videos
- The English media and the fans are pathetic and deserve the worst

Its a pity that Mr ‘Holier than thou’ balanced his good display and 2 goals with a blatant dive in the penalty area.
Rooney’s also suspended for the next match.
Downing? HELL NO. Try drafting in bentley, 10 times better, i think downing is wank. BTW rooney is suspended, do he wont be starting.
I didn’t see the game but I’m glad of the three points - even if it was only Andorra. When it was 0-0 at HT it was getting a wee bit tense.
The real challenge comes when we play Croatia and Russia at Wembley - these are must win games.
I hope we keep Hargreaves and Garrard in center of midfield - but I bet McClaren will change things.
[…] are too tense - they were tense before Andorra and as a result took 45 minutes to come to terms with the fact that they could sit back and pick […]
