  1. What can you say! Injury, form and mediocrity worries all over the squad.

    A disasterous season in terms of preparation….and yet…the hype has started!

    Capello is talking of a final appearance. Michael Owen thinks England can win it etc. etc.

    Carragher and King in the squad, and an attempt to lure Scholes back tell you all you need to know about how preparation has gone for England.

    The silver lining, in what for me is a very dark cloud, is the fact that so many of the traditionally strong countries are at a low point.

    Anything could could happen with this lot…..anything but winning it that is!
