Elizabeth Lambert is a college football defender playing for New Mexico in the Women’s Mountain West Conference college tournament. In the game against Bringham Young University (BYU), things got a little rough with Elizabeth. Things got so rough that she earned the nickname Elizabeth “cheap-shot” Lambert. Seriously, words can’t describe what she has done. So, here’s the video of the event:

That’s just disgusting. Number 1, that’s a college level match and you don’t need to harm your opponents at that level. Number 2, what happened to the referee and the linesmen? The only acceptable answers for not showing the red card to Elizabeth will be a physical inability to blow… the whistle, that is. Blind will do too.
This is surely something that needs to be looked in to and serious action taken against the players and the officials involved.
This is a player that needs to be removed from the sport. It’s not that this shouldn’t be happening during a college level match… it should not be happening in a match at any level! The referees should be reprimanded and the school should be fined as well. What is this teaching younger players about sportsmanship? It’s o.k. to win at any cost? See Mr. Blount at the Oregon Ducks. Perhaps she should switch to Ultimate Fighting… she’s definitely no soccer player.
Elizabeth Lambert’s violent (not just rough) actions against other players can be literally murderous, and plainly even worse than what Tonya Harding had in mind years ago just to “win”. How’d you like your head pulled back against your spinal column? “Sorry” doesn’t cut it; there’s something very wrong in her psyche. She doesn’t have to finish college at all, because she can quit and she’d be very welcome at WWF or UFC right now.

UFC, MMA, kickboxers, ring fighters all understand what professional behavior is, they wouldn’t do what Lambert did. Yes, Elizabeth Lambert could try switching to ultimate fighting. The problem there would be that no fighter would let someone pull them to the ground by their hair– Lambert (and gutless cheap-shot cowards like her) could only get away with that in situations where it’s not anticipated, such as in line at the supermarket, at the library or perhaps waiting for a bus.
After the complete failure of the refs,or powers that be to reprimand “cheap-shot” lambert with a red card or suspension, or anything simular, The Athletic Director of New Mexico has banned Elizabeth from playing, practicing or conditioning at New Mexico. I guess thats the maximum sentence an athletic director can impose…Kudos to the athletic director for stepping up, where everyone else failed.
