liam,
Where would we be without a debt ridden pretend manchester club fan bleating about the Cult Manchester Club.
Sorry to spoil your dream son but our 3 year plan is only 3 months in, we have money to burn and 80% of our match day revenue does not go in just servicing the debt and as you are a half wit this means your debt stands still or does not decrease, understand ??????
Probably not
Still, you can pretend you have a youth policy
pretend your 2 european wins somehow equal Liverpools 5
pretend you cared enough about munich but not to take finacial care of the survivers by even having a fundraiser for them
Pretend Ferdinand forgot his drugs test but remembered to go and hide shopping
Pretend you play in Manchester but geographically are not
Pretend roy keane is not a physcopath who Harlaand should have had prosecuted for criminal assault but declined to do so
pretend 1978 to 1991 never exisited
Pretend to have the biggest fan base in the world but forget Barcelona
Gets a bit boring Huh?
Can you see out point ?

Anthony - I'd say Man City will have to do more than "tweak" their away form if the Chelsea match is any indication. (Although in fairness, 6-0 was hard on them as they did create a few good chances and at least tried to play an attacking game.) But yes, you're absolutely right, Elano has been great to watch all season, even for neutrals like me. No telling whether he'll stay long enough to become a local legend, but just the fact that we're thinking of him that way shows what a mark he's already made.

Re Mr Fed Up.

I can see where you're coming from, the golden era of the late 60's has naturally been sorely missed. Bell, Lee, Summerbee, Young etc are revered even now, not to mention the management team of Mercer/Allison.

One point I would pick up on, though, is that of Goater. 'The Goat' was an excellent poacher for City, and let's not forget he intially had to endure some negativity from the terraces as City languished in Division Two. He is without a doubt a legend of the club, but would you class any of the last few decades as successful compared to what went beforehand? Granted, the Blues won two promotions with Goater up front and I particularly look back on the time with fondness, remembering Wembley and Ewood Park, but Joe Royle himself wasn't content with that 'success', declaring in his programme notes on the Premiership return in 2000 that the club should be aiming for Europe. Not that it worked out that way but when does it ever for the Citizens?

For City legends personally think you need some success for the club as well which means going way back to the 60s/70s, and inevitably Colin Bell, which is no doubt why one of the stands at Eastlands is named after him. Berkovic/Bernabia weren't there long enough, and surely to that list must be added Shaun Goater, as in 'feed the goat'. Elano's been at City five minutes. Hopefully some actual success will come back to the blue side of M/C but how long will Elano be at City anyway. My hero was always Neil Young - watching him pick the ball up just past the half-way line, swerve past a couple of defenders and let fly on the edge of the penalty area for a 'nellie young' left-foot special was worth the admission fee alone. Colin who?
