Chelsea still maintain the top spot in the Premier League, despite managing a 1-1 draw against Southampton on Saturday. The Blues still lead by 3 points over Manchester City, who drew 2-2 against Burnley.

Eden Hazard, who has created most chances in the opposition box than any player in top five leagues, was on target this weekend, as a result, the Belgian winger has cemented the #1 spot in the EA Sports Player Performance Index this week.

Hazard picked up the ball from the left and dribbled past couple of players to make room for himself and glided past the Saints’ goal keeper to restore parity for Chelsea, after the visitors went behind early courtesy Sadio Mane’s brilliant effort.

Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas have maintained their 3rd and 5th positions in the table respectively. However, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez is rapidly closing down Costa, and the Chilean is occupying the 4th spot, 3 points behind the Chelsea striker.

Robin van Persie missed several good chances against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend and couldn’t add enough points to his tally. The Dutch striker still maintaining the #7 spot, way behind QPR’s Charlie Austin.

Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling scored against Burnley and put up a good performance against Swansea as well, the England international moved one step up in #8.

Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has dropped two places down, but the England superstar still holding his position within top 15.
