Radamel Falcao remains coy on his future

Columbian striker Radamel Falcao has reignited speculation regarding his future with Monaco, with the 28-year-old refusing to comment on whether he will leave the Ligue 1 side this summer.

When asked about his plans for next season, with both Chelsea and Real Madrid known to be suitors, Falcao told Spanish daily Marca (via talkSport), “Real Madrid? For now, my future is my knee”.

The former Porto and Athletico Madrid player injured his knee ligaments early in the New Year playing for the French side and was considered doubtful for the World Cup in Brazil come in June. But surgeon Jose Carlos Naronha recently revealed that his patient can get back to the pitch as early as May.

The 28 year-old  had been a transfer target for Chelsea way back last summer but nouveau riche Monaco snapped him up with a staggering transfer fee.  Jose Mourinho dropped a major hint in his pursuit of the Colombian saying his team had “no strikers.”

Both Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o have failed to get the goals for the Blues this season and Demba Ba has hardly featured for the Stamford Bridge outfit. Owner Roman Abrahimovic is also reportedly backing Mourinho’s wishes to sign a lethal striker they so clearly need this summer, and Falcao is certainly on the wishlist.

The Columbian, by the looks of it, is certainly coy on his future refusing to comment on a move away from Monaco; but perhaps Falcao is more concerned at getting back on the pitch and lead his country in the World Cup in Brazil. It wouldn’t surprise us!

  1. Falcao & COSTA.cant wait!!

  2. How many goals does Falcao hav?

Wen we needed him, he didn’t cum,
he went 4 money, nw he’s a flop.

We don’t nid him at Chelsea.
We nid only D.costa & Hulk up front.

    • He better than everyone at Chelsea he has more goals than everyone at Chelsea in less games you sound stupid

  3. Chelsea need 2 strikers, then to offload Ba & Torres, but Costa & Falcao can’t work together this time, bcoz all are now big starts, its better to sign Costa then look for his helper striker, like Lukaku or to sign Porto striker Martinez,, then Mourihno must change playing system instead of using 1 striker to start using 2 strikers up front.
