callejon €32m Spanish forward snubs Chelsea and confirms he is not looking for summer transferJose Callejon has revealed that he is happy at Napoli and has put the recent speculations surrounding his future to bed after admitting that he is hungry for more success with the Serie A club.

The 27-year-old joined Rafael Benitez at Naples after leaving Real Madrid last summer. The Spaniard had an impressive season with the Italian outfit, scoring 15 goals and managing six assists from 37 league appearances.

Callejon was also a part of Napoli side which defeat AS Roma in the finals to win the Coppa Italia last season. His form had attracted interested from Chelsea, who were set to make a €32m bid for the attacking player.

However, the former Real forward has quashed those rumours after claiming that he is happy with his current employers.

“Soon we start again. How many goals for 2015? I make it 21 would be fine, I will settle for little. The beginning of last season was wonderful. Great festive atmosphere around us and then a series of successes that we have become proud. And had fun then,” Callejon told in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

“But success in the Italian Cup final, despite what happened outside the stadium, from the sporting point of view was exceptional because we won this trophy after beating Roma, second in the league, and Fiorentina, we has been an awkward until the end.”

“There have been games where we gave points to attack, and, therefore, we have taken away from us. This has expanded too quickly away from Juventus and Roma. There is lack of continuity. It is on this aspect that we have to work. I am a hungry player, who has always wanted to work and learn, that puts the success of his team.”

“But also ambitious, of course. Next year will be a Naples louder and louder. There is a story that says, this is a club who for years lived among the great. It is to trust what he will do now, the choices of De Laurentiis, Benitez, Bigon.”

“When I was a footballer I have a duty to do something else. But I am optimistic. Coming to Naples was a very good choice in this team and I’m fine.”

Champions League or the Scudetto? And if possible, can I take both? Why choose? It is the desire of any player to be able to win and we are in a position to do so, even if the competition is huge and quality,” he concluded.

With Callejon’s latest comments, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could be forced to look elsewhere in the transfer market. Meanwhile, the Blues are reportedly edging towards signing Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid to bolster their strike force for the next season.
