This will give the youth the change to perform on the 1st team earlier than they do now. Especially small competitions - like the Dutch - will benefit of it. Side benefit would be that not all the good players will go to the UK, Italy, Spain or Germany. Simply because there is no room there for them to play! Above that we in Holland would benefit from the good youth development that we have here. Psv, Feyenoord and Ajax have great academies, but somehow - over the last few years - couldn't produce new talent simply because they have not been given more time to develop. Then there's Kluivert who famously claimed that he would be unable to link with RVN. Then RVN himself backed out of the national team because of disagreements with Van Basten.
