The 19-year-old can operate as a central defender or a midfielder and captain the Blues U21 side during the FA Cup success in 2012. His form has seen him receive a call for England U21 side earlier in 2012 and is a regular member of the Young Lions’ squad.
A statement on Chelsea’ s official website read, ” Nathaniel Chalobah has today joined Burnley on a season-long loan. The move gives the 19-year-old his first opportunity to gain top-flight first-team experience.”
“Chalobah captained Chelsea to FA Youth Cup glory in 2012, and on the international stage he is in the England Under-21 squad competing during the current international break and was a player used by Gareth Southgate in the Toulon Tournament in May.”
Chalobah came up through the ranks of the West London club’s youth system and broke into the Blues first team in 2012. However, the versatile star has been away from club on-loan and spent the previous campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.
