Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta has joined Spanish side Rayo Vallecano on a season long loan deal
Chelsea have confirmed their midfielder Gael Kakuta has joined Spanish side Rayo Vallecano on a season-long loan deal.
The Frenchman joined the Blues as a teenager from Lens in 2007 but has only managed to garner six appearances for the London club. The 23 year old has enjoyed loan spells at Fulham, Bolton, Vitesse Arnhem, Lazio and in the coming season his next destination would be Spain.
A statement from the official side read, “We wish Gael well in Spain.”
Madrid based Vallecano finished 12th in La Liga last season and Kakuta’s experience playing in the La Liga will come in handy if Chelsea are keen to add him in their first team squad in the coming seasons.
Kakuta has played for France at every level from Under-16 to Under-21 age groups but is yet to receive a cap from the senior national squad. There is every possibility that he will break into the Les Bleus national full national squad soon but his career prospects at Chelsea doesn’t look that great.
