Most large corporations are run by people who make substantial bets with other people's money - why should a football club be any different? Without speaking about the actual financial circumstances around City, which I'm not privy to, I think people writing about money in the world of football should actually know something about finance.

And if you're going to say that a club should be run like a club and not a business, then don't complain the next time nobody's willing to give your club millions of pounds/Euros to buy expensive players.

I suspect that when Frank made his initial bid for City, he assumed he was buying the team from Trafford.

I'm afraid it looks like things are gonna get worse for City. Let's face it, who is going to join them when they are in a financial crisis? You might not know if ur gonna get paid ffs. At the mo if I was a player given the choice between City and Wigan it would be Wigan without hesitation.

The next couple of games may well define City's season and Hughes' future. Hughes doesn't mind taking the credit for Blackburn doing well but I think the success was more down to the running of the football club than down to Hughes' astute nouse. He didn't win anything there as manager - Souness did.

Sorry to say pal, but the only thing Thaksin cares about is Thaksin and his inflated self-importance.
He gives a damn about the game, the club and the supporters. It's simply his vehicle to keep himself in the media.
The Ronaldhino saga was staged to give him face in football mad Thailand.
I really hope that Man City will survive this unpleasant time and Tox will sell the club to someone who really cares.

This is a bit of a daft point to raise. no one buy's a football club to fail, how many clubs have had that actually happen to them. Leeds the only club I can think off that have com off the rails, were not actually sabotaged, the gamble they made just didn't pay off for them, they really wanted to get to the top to fast.
Thaksin Shinawatra cares, have you forgot already about the fact that he tried to get Ronaldinho, whether the the chances of him coming to us were slim or not, at least he tried, that's because he cares about making the club better, we can't be compared to Milan, we have to be in touch with reality, He's already getting people in that hope to take the club to another level, but nothing is guaranteed in any walk of life, you just have to hope things go well over time, I want a permanant fix not a patch to fix things just now and then down the line come off the rails.
I sometimes wonder if united fans are on this type of site just undermining anything we try to say or do.
The loss of Jo and the injury list we've got has'nt helped us at all, but you can't blame Thaksin for that.
We've got to give Mark Hughes time, we will only look more of a laughing stock if we all panic and lose another manager just because things hav'nt got of to a flying start and because he used to play for the dark side, Matt Busby played for us remember, if we're going to be great again we have to keep the faith.
