Do Arsenal fans still give a f*** about Chelsea’s Cashley Cole?
It might still be some days ahead but with Arsenal and Chelsea both having qualified for the UEFA Champions League knockout stages, the supporters are already focusing on the titan clash between the two London clubs this weekend in the English Premier League. And for the Gunners supporters the talking point especially for the Gunners fanatics is of course one former player who left the club under acrimonious circumstances to join their arch rivals.
Ashley Cole left behind Arsenal in the summer of 2006 to serve Chelsea and since then he has been observed as a figure of loathing by most Arsenal fans. This perception doesn’t have to do as much with the fact that Cole left at all as with the bitterness that he traded Arsenal for Chelsea. Cole had been nurtured at Arsenal and came through the ranks at the excellent youth academy that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has helped to construct at the club.
But all love for one of the few home-grown players in this scintillating Arsenal team took a bitter turn for the good when Cole came out of the blocks to revive a one-year old skeleton in his autobiography in mid July when he described himself as a “scapegoat” whom the club had “fed to the sharks”. Cole was referring to the tapping-up fiasco that has ensued at the start of the previous season when Cole was found guilty by the English FA of making illegal approach to local rivals Chelsea. He actually blamed Arsenal of not committing themselves enough to help Cole save the situation in 2005.
Ashley Cole missed last season’s derby clash between Arsenal and Chelsea but is anticipated to start the game this weekend. And it is also expected that the Gunners supporters drowning the Emirates Stadium for the match would also try and drown Cole with their intimidating resentment towards him. One can rest assured that every time that Cole touches the ball or makes a challenge, he will be booed and even shouted abuse at. Once the apple of the eye, a rare English gem gleaming brightly alongside foreign rubies, Cole is now a traitor to the Arsenal supporters and would be treated like any other traitor.

I’m not going, I’ve tried desperately to get tickets for this but it isn’t happening, regardless, if I was there I’d probably lose my voice shouting obscenities at the little shit before the game has even kicked off.

As usual Arsenal know when to sell a player when hes had his time and equally so with Cashley. His injuries & attitude combined with the tactical restrictions of playing for Chelsea make him a spent force. Wenger cashed in on him to make room for Clichy who is already proving he will be greater than cashley ever was. How Cash must regret leaving Arsenal to play conventional left back for negative machine chelsea after playing almost as winger for the slick passing gunners.
No doubt I will give him some abuse on Sunday but no more than any other chelsea player. I doubt cash will play as Wayne Bridge is a better option.

What happened to good old days when a man could go to a match and really abuse someone from the bottom of his heart? Now-days a lad can’t even throw anything on the pitch or make a torch and whatnot. Pathetic rules really. Fans can’t express their feelings and emotions just by shouting and even then you have whining bastards like Fergie who think it’s “too dangerous.” Anyway, Cashley deserves as much rough treatment as rules allow so that the club wouldn’t get punished. We need to stay positive at this difficult period for the club.

A small History lesson. Herbert Chapman won the title 3 times in a row back in the twenties with Huddersfield and then went on to help Arsenal win 3 titles in the 30’s ( he died in the last year 1935). So in answer to your first statement. Yes we have.

I hate the twat, but I think we got the better deal- Gallas plus space for Clichy, who I think is better, plus a few quid. allgoonerssucktheirmums: Ashley Cole has only won a Carling Cup with Chelsea. Chelsea won two premierships under Mourinho, but Cole only joined last year (Man Utd’s). Henry’s out indefinitely with sciata, and hasn’t looked comfortable in a 4-3-3.
As for greener pastures: Bentley’s improved since his days at Arsenal, won an England cap. Sidwell and Pennant have won squad roles in big clubs. Anelka won a European Cup with Real Madrid the year after he left us.
And, regarding Cole’s claim: Cesc and Ade were both illegally tapped up this summer (Real Madrid and Man Utd respectively). Arsenal has not appealled against those attempts. Why not? While Cole’s naive for thinking that Arsenal would bail him out of his mess, he does have a point. Maybe Arsenal saw a chance to embarass Chelsea and found it too tempting.
