That was the only reason Donadoni kept him on the entire time: the "hope" that that goal would come, and that Luca's full goalscoring power would be unleashed. Regarding the rest, I pretty much agree with your assessments. The defense was terrible against Netherlands, but picked it up on the way. The <strong>absence of Fabio Cannavaro </strong>weighed in a lot to be honest: everyone thought the Real Madrid's center-back injury would undoubtedly affect the team's performance, but I don't think anyone was ready to bet it would be quite so devastating for Italy. Thankfully, <strong>Giorgio Chiellini </strong>became a sort of Cannavaro nº2 (he was absolutely amazing vs. Spain). What players to expect for the future?
