Premier League is back after a weekend of cup football and there are several interesting things to look forward to. Here are five of our key events that could light up another Barclays Premier League game-week.

He is back!

Tim Sherwood

Tim Sherwood is back and his quality was never in doubt. 59 % win ratio and all that.

On a serious note, Sherwood takes the hot seat at Villa Park today. The Villans have struggled to score this season and despite some impressive displays under former manager Paul Lambert, the lack of goals have dragged them into the relegation dog fight. It will be interesting to see if the former Spurs gaffer can freshen things up and rejuvenate the misfiring Christian Benteke and the likes of Weimann and Agbonlahor.

Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony

Admit it, we have all wanted to see how Bony would perform in a top side. The Ivory coast striker has been sensational for Swansea, since his move from Eredivisie.

The powerful forward is set to make his debut for the Champions against Newcastle and will be looking to make his mark at Etihad. Despite some initial doubts over his potential when he came to England, Bony is a seasoned Premier League forward now and there is good chance it will be a debut to remember.

Premier League’s bad boy

Costa stamp 3

Since the departure of Luis Suarez, Chelsea’s Diego Costa has done well to take up the mantle of the bad boy in England. The powerful Brazilian has got a bit of reputation and hasn’t disappointed since moving to England. With his hard man approach the Chelsea forward has been terrorising defences since August.

Following a three game ban for a stamp on Liverpool’s Emre Can, the former Atleti striker is back in action today. The payback time has begun!

Harry Kane and Big Sam

Spurs take on West Ham in the London Derby tomorrow and who else to look forward to but Harry Kane, the man of the moment.

The England striker has been in sensational form this season and has had his say in two derbies earlier this season against Chelsea and Arsenal. Further, with all the speculations around big Sam’s future, could Kane be the man to sign his exit papers?

Fight for the Champions League

SterlingSturridge

Southampton welcome last season’s title runners up Liverpool to the St Mary’s tomorrow in what promises to be a thriller. Both sides will be looking to establish themselves as serious contenders for the top 4 finish.

The Saints have had an outstanding season under new manager Koeman so far and the Reds have found their way after a faltering start.

With Sturridge back in the side and Raheem Sterling set to return as well, this six pointer will be the game of the weekend.
