Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge all summer.

The Spanish international is apparently keen on a return to La Liga with Atletico Madrid. Recently the Atletico president also confirmed that the Spanish giants are interested in Costa.

However, Atletico Madrid have now signed Kevin Gameiro from Sevilla and therefore Costa’s return to Calderon is highly unlikely now and in future.

Spanish outlet Cuatro have released a video footage where they have translated (through lip reading) a conversation between Costa and Ramos discussing about the Atletico Madrid transfer.

The report says that Ramos was shocked that Chelsea blocked a move and the Real Madrid captain was showing sympathy to the Spanish international.

Apparently Costa said to Ramos that he wanted to join Atletico but Chelsea won’t let him and now Simeone has signed Gameiro as an alternative.

Now whether Ramos is actually talking to Costa about his failed transfer to Atletico Madrid is uncertain. Despite the claims from Cuatro, they are not a very reputed source and it could easily be an attempt to produce sensational content through misinformation.

Diego Costa had a poor season with Chelsea last year and it is understandable that he might want to return to Atletico Madrid. But it will be very hard for Chelsea to replace him with a player of similar quality and therefore a transfer is highly unlikely. Unfortunately Conte is unlikely to entertain Costa’s desire to leave as much as Sergio Ramos.
