DEAL CLOSE: Chelsea player a ‘step away’ to leave club as transfer move nears

It seems as if the last week of the summer transfer window is now under full swing. Just yesterday we had reported that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had insisted that he wants Spanish striker Fernando Torres to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer saying, “I want him to stay. He will play and score goals, and be very useful for us.”

However reports this morning in Italian media outlet La Stampa  have claimed that Torres is a step away from joining AC Milan, the Rossoneri who want the 30 year old striker to replace Mario Balotelli at San Siro. TMW have also cited the report saying that the Spaniard would be interested in the move but his asronomical wage demands could be a stumbling block.

Milan Vice-president and C.E.O Adriano Galliani knows how to speak Spanish and will try to convince the former Liverpool player to leave the Premier League in favour of a switch to the Serie A.

The recent developments comes after Gazzetta Dello Sport had cited English media outlet ‘Daili Star’ that Chelsea are preparing a €25m offer to acquire the service of Roma striker Mattia Destro, the Italian who has an admirer in Mourinho.

4 Unheralded players ready to take this La Liga Season By Storm

  1. Pls chelsea shld try as much as possible to offload torres dis season or else he will bring bad luck to d club.

  2. Chelseafc shld think fast now to offload dis guy (Torres) now.Cos if u dnt use him he will look rusty on d bench nd will also affect his carrer pls,dnt let him cause u at end of day pls,so dat it will not later turn to like Eto’s case.

  3. Am I dreaming or this is truly about to happen? Even if it is for free, chelsea should offload Torres ‘F9’ quick

  4. Torres will be a serious barrier to cfc if the club failed to off load him now.Are you not seeing him dead already? costa to avoid him before he is finally buried.

  5. What annoys me most is not Torres leaving Chelsea, slowness by Chelsea to offload this flop.I rest my case.

  6. Roman shld not be a full to reason on keeping Torres d next second in stamford bridge. offload that Ebola virus from chelsea now!

  7. Tottaly agree with all comments regarding Torres to go, I would also let Mikel go rather than Van Ginkel. On who should come in a replace Torres there has been a lot of speculation that we want this Roma striker Destro. From the clips I have seen in on YouTube he seems a good player. However I think another player we should look at trying to bring in is Pato. He was linked with us before, and he is player who is only 25, for sure a Jose type player and I think we can get him for around about £15 to £20 million. He is a hard worker box to box and can score great goals as well.
    Cfc for life!!

  8. Torres hav to go.we de blues thank u 4evry thing u‘ve here @de bridge.wish u fruitful career in milan home of history.

  9. Torres is the biggest issue he should go and Mikel is another pliz don’t let Van Ginkel go instead of Mikel

  10. Certainly Torres has to be offloaded this summer. He himself should go and check his performance especially at the preseason. It was awful. He could not control the ball. He could not guide or shield the ball. He could not pass the ball. He could not chest the ball. He could not convert clear cut opportunity to goal. He can not battle with the defenders. So he commands no single threat again. Pls go. Sorry you want to be paid off before you go.too bad for not being ashamed. Well thank you.

  11. chelsea shd not gamble with regards to the striking pair, torress is a flop and there are fantastic strikers who want to play for the blues, destro, roberto firmino and even bamford shd ve allowed to stay allthese players are gud for the club no much time to be wasted
