Newly appointed Sunderland boss David Moyes wants to sign Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj on loan this summer.

Moyes was announced as Sam Allardyce’s successor last week after the Englishman was appointment as the new head coach of the Three Lions’ national team.

Januzaj was considered as one of the best young prospects in world football after netting four goals and providing three assists in just 15 league starts under David Moyes in the 2013/14 campaign.

The 21-year-old flourished during the short and ill-fated tenure of David Moyes at Man Utd but has since find it difficult to break into the first team squad on regular basis.

The Belgian International spent the first half of last season away at loan to Borussia Dortmund, before the Bundesliga giants terminated his loan deal in January to send him back to Manchester.

Dortmund head coach Tomas Tuchel later criticized Januzaj for failing to show the right ‘desire and attitude’, who made just six appearances during his time in Germany.

Januzaj has reportedly attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs but Sunderland, who wanted to sign the Belgian last summer as well before he joined Dortmund on loan, remain in pole position to lure the young winger this time around with Moyes hopeful of making Januzaj one of his first signings for the Black Cats.

The Man Utd youth academy product, who was stripped off from the iconic No 11 shirt he wore for the past two campaigns, appears likely to leave the club again on a loan deal in search of playing time.
