Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea reportedly wants Barcelons midfielder Cesc Fabregas to join him at Old Trafford in the summer.

The young Spanish goal keeper in an interview was asked to comment on the rumours of Manchester United’s interest in Fabregas. He replied: “I’m seeing if I can take Cesc to Manchester”.

The former Arsenal midfielder has featured in 45 appearances for the Camp Nou outfit this season scoring 9 goals and grabbing 14 assists. However a mass exodus is expected from the Catalan club who will restructure their entire squad under new manager Luis Enrique.

fabregas_2618318bManchester United have been in hot pursuit for the 27 year old since last summer and are desperate to bolster their squad after a disastrous 2013-14 campaign which saw the Red Devils lose out on a Champions League berth.

With Louis Van Gaal set to take charge after the World Cup, Fabregas would easily fit in the Dutch Legend’s philosophy and the attacking 4-3-3 setup at Old Trafford. United have lacked an engine in the middle of the park who can drive the team forward with his performance and Fabregas seems to fit the bill perfectly for the Premier League giants.

We had earlier reported that United were preparing a massive €53m bid for the player and with notable journalist Guillem Balague reporting that Barcelona would listen for offers makes the current situation of the player quite interesting.

Earlier today Arsenal legend Ray Parlour urged Arsene Wenger not to sign Fabregas  feeling that the plethora of midfield options for the Gunners makes its a no brainer to sign their former star.
