David Beckham Should Stop Blogging. Like. Seriously.

Hello everybody…

That’s not me greeting you lovely folk, that’s D to the B riding the double-A of the V himself, (Sir – so far it’s optional) David Beckham.

We’re honored to have Mr Beckham grace us with his superstar blogging skills, so let’s cut to the chase and see what he has to say, mmmmmkk?

Well, it was good to get back to winning ways against Cagliari after the disappointment of losing the Milan derby.

Unfortunately, we’re out of the UEFA Cup though. We didn’t lose either game against Werder Bremen, but they’re through on the away goals rule. It’s another disappointment, but good to them.

Good to them, indeed. But this is great, so far we know Beckham won against Cagli-something, lost the Milan derby (is that a horse-race? was he riding a horse? Did V know / approve of this spectacle?), and he’s out of the UEFA Cup. He (they? who’s they?) didn’t lose, but good to them.

On Tuesday I appeared at an adidas store in Milan to reveal the new Predator boot. It was a fantastic afternoon, made all the better by the amount of people that came along. Many thanks to those who turned up. I hope you had a good time.

And my sincerest apologies to those who expected that I was going to reveal the ‘Predator’ itself. Adidas doesn’t pay me that much, plus the missus would strangle me. Buy the shoe though, it’ll stop you from slipping when you take shots on a wet surface…you know, like our ‘captain’ Terry.

We were away to Sampdoria on Sunday and didn’t get the result we wanted. It’s all about consistency at the moment, but things aren’t quite going our way. We’re back at home this weekend though, so we know what we need to do to get things going again.

You win, you lose, you lose, you lose, you model for a product. I’m not saying that that’s bad, per se, but maybe your definition of consistency needs realignment.

That’s all for now.

Damn, and I’d just put the popcorn in the microwave.

Take care,
David

David, I love you, but please, fire the people writing your blog and either do it yourself, or if that IS you, hire a professional blogger to do it for you. Here’s one – he’s got excellent credentials.

The David Beckham Blog (what, you thought I made this up?).

This week's Soccerlens Podcast covers Henry's handball, the wonders of horse placenta and big match previews for this weekend. Check it out here.

WHAT THE HELL? If you don’t like to read it, then don’t read it, it’s that simple!

You are NOT criticising his blog here..you are criticising HIM, both as a player and his personal life! Oh..just say that you hate him..that’s all! Seriously..your “article” here has nothing to do with his blog, but everything to do with what people has been criticizing him everyday – his life and career.

For me, his blog is okay for someone who is as busy as him. He is not like Paris Hilton or other celebrities who only busy with their job only once a month or twice a week.

And most importantly, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT HIM TO SAY?? That he’ll say how much he missed his missus; how much he regrets of not being there on his children birthday; what time he sleeps at night; whether he’s having any dreams at all or not; etc, etc? Guess what..he’s a professional, and writing stupid things in a blog just to get your name in a gossip mag really not pro and not A-list standard, sport or not.

  2. Link to his blog?

  3. Crap – just seen it!

  5. Outsider, try some context on for size, for example what I’ve been saying about him for the last three years.

  6. vintage bilal, he alone sometimes knows why he writes stuff. i fail to see da point he was trying to make too.

  7. @Nino why don’t you stick to one name first and then highlight the fact that you can’t figure something out? :)

Years of dealing with media attention has turned this guy into a very bland man. Everything he says is so diplomatic. He can never express any true opinions or the media will spin it, meaning everything he says is either dull or you knew he was going to say before he even said it.

One footballer who I actually find interesting to listen to during interviews is David James. The guy says things which are subtlely controversial.

  9. Ahmed, you’re way off on this one. It’s one thing to try and make Beckham look stupid (or as you said, whoever it is that’s writing his blog), it’s another to be imagining things for the sake of empty football social commentary.

    1) They are Werder Bremen. The subject was identified in the previous sentence.
    2) Beckham did turn up at the store for the shoe unveiling. Evidence.
    3) Yes, “it’s all about consistency”. Now see to me, Becks was saying just that Milan are struggling to find consistency. A normal person would have got that. Somehow, you interpreted (or decided to interpret) it as “Becks doesn’t know the definition of consistency”.

Regardless on how one feels about Goldenballs, the idea of mocking the Beckham blog could have been an amusing one. You should have chosen better source material for it though.

  10. JakeR – it’s one thing to write something that you think is funny, it’s quite another to have to explain it to other people who don’t get it. Suffice to say that you misinterpreted everything. cheers.

  11. Yeah sorry, but it wasn’t very funny to begin with.
