According to reports from the Lancashire Telegraph, Burnley striker Danny Ings is all set for a summer move to Liverpool once his contract expires in July. Ings has been a key figure for Burnley this season but the Clarets’ top scorer has been unable to prevent his side staving off relegation from the top flight.

The English striker has scored 10 goals this season and was also earlier linked with Manchester United when Louis Van Gaal had sent scouts to watch him in action. The report also states that Ings had earlier flown out to Spain to hold talks with David Moyes at Real Sociedad.

However, it now appears that Liverpool will be his preferred destination as the Reds are desperate to sign a quality striker who can lead the line up front. The Reds have struggled to get goals this season with Daniel Sturridge on the sidelines for several months. Luis Suarez has been missed while Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini have all failed to deliver as the Reds hierarchy are now trying to bring in a quality striker.

Burnley could get a compensation in the region of £4m if the striker stayed in England but that figure would be significantly reduced to £20,600 under FIFA rules by a move abroad.
