Adnan Januzaj
Teenager Adnan Januzaj (centre) has burst on the Premier League scene this season.

Is there any country not trying to secure the services of Adnan Januzaj?

You can add Croatia to a seemingly ever-growing list of nations after Manchester United’s teenage winger.

Januzaj was declared a star following his match-winning performance at Sunderland last weekend.

Belgium, the country of his birth, tried to call him up, but Janzuaj has deferred any decision when it comes to international football.

Januzaj’s ancestry

Croatia Under-21 boss Ivo Susak plans talks with Januzaj after it emerged that he qualifies for them through his mother.

“One of the managers from Albania has told me that Adnan’s mother is from Croatia so we are of course interested in him,” Susak told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti.

“His potential is amazing but we know we are facing an uphill battle for him.

“As for now, he has no Croatian papers so this is an important issue. We are yet to speak with him but we are of course planning talks with this young player.”

Januzaj is also eligible to represent Serbia, Turkey, Albania and even Kosovo through his parents and grandparents, if the latter is is recognized by FIFA.

England manager Roy Hodgson claimed the Three Lions are also monitoring Januzaj, but the FA would have go back on the agreement they reached with other Home Nations.
