You lot are all the blindest bunch of football fans ever. How can that pansy Ronaldo, that midget Messi and that ugly bloke Ribery compare to the greatness, the magic, the spectacle and sheer force of nature that is Pharrell Bell? He is the reason we are top of the table...

why did this article become a debate of messi and ronaldo, there is no mention that ronaldo is better. but that he is aspiring to be the best, which he is, and should do.

Huh?--I never considered the difference between diving and "anticipating" a foul. Messi getting ruthlessly hacked against Real was hardly an anomaly; truth is the kid takes it day in and out and in doing so demonstrates class and intelligence. What's going to be beautiful, and great for football, is when Ronaldo takes his skills to Real Madrid next year, and the two best players in the game become part of the best rivalry in sports. I can't wait. It'll be England's loss, but get used to it. Spain has taken over Europe in more ways than one.

Cian, I must say, Messi really pulled his team through having their asses anded to them on a platter by Bolivia, 6-1. You truly are more qualified at speaking out of yours.

Do you ever think Ronaldo may not be as petulant and angry if he got even half of the fouls committed against him every single week. How would you feel if people kept coming and knocking your papers out of your hands at work? I'd imagine after two year you'd just stop turning up. Ronaldo keeps flicking the ball past bumbling defenders every week, he doesn't quit.

Spain is a league where skill is lauded. In the Premier League it is increasingly being kicked off the park by crass hoofers like Barton, Taylor and Pogatetz. I'm not surprised Ronaldo wants t be as far away from this anti-football as possible. He'll be a god in Spain. ANd as a United fan, it's probably the best option or him...

for £40mil and Iker....

I dont agree with Rick. Messi is far and away the better player, and i mean that in terms of skill, temperament and loyalty.

Ronaldo isn't unpredictable, just extremely effective at using his physical prowess...speed, low center of gravity, strength, and masterful technique. Second, Messi makes his teammates better and is more of a team player than Ronaldo will ever be. How many times have we seen Rooney throw up his hands in frustration because CR7 decided to take a shot from an acute angle rather than square to an obviously open Rooney. Ronaldo is effective because we built our play around him and we've become anemic and predictable as a result. Messi on the other hand seamlessly integrates himself into barca team play and while remaining the teams fulcrum doesnt not inhibit the fluidity, which in turn allows for more variety. Ronaldo is class, dont get me wrong, but his success is only made possible because United players are willing to surrender the spotlight to him in exchange for success. Real Madrid players would not be so accomodating, I can assure you of that. Finally, too, Messi is the more loyal and well adjusted (emotionally) player. CR theatrics are what makes him lose out on the many fouls he deserves. He does get fouled alot, but there is too often an element of dishonesty in how he goes about trying to earn what is rightfully his. It's akin attempting to steal your own money from the bank. I think residual hurt feelings from the summer saga are spilling over here. He should have been rewarded his move to Real Madrid, but he is at complete fault for going about it the way he did. This season his body language communicates that he is uninterested and unprofessional. Even David Beckham and Van Nistelrooy in the midst of their controversy played gave 100% in the final days. The point is no matter your frame of reference, Messi is the better player. Ronaldo deserves all he's won, and was rightly crowned the best player in the world for last year. However, in the context of right now, Messi and perhaps for the forseeable future, that will remain the case

it was an example that would fit in with the audience, which is a britihs based site you fool. i watch all top la liga games involving the top 5 and all prem games. so i know what it is like but if i name a random game like the mallorca game where he was targetted on the touchline by the three midfielders, then nobody could remember as it wasnt even on tele that day.

During this Year's el Classico, the Madrid players were taking turns and attacking messi in order to avoid Individual red cards......Messi was actually good in that match.....
