The twists and turns in the transfer market seems to have reached its zenith. A couple of days ago widespread reports from Italy seemed to lift the spirits of  Manchester United fans by claiming that the Red Devils had agreed personal terms with Arturo Vidal. Since then there have been no updates on the story from Italian media outlets.

Contrary to the same, Gazzetta Dello Sport which published the Vidal story have reported late last night that Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin ‘dreams’ to play for United. We had covered the story on Guarin citing Calcio Mercato that the Colombian was set to join Russian side Zenit St Petersburg after they secured a Champions League berth.

The recent developments come despite the fact that Zenit are in pole position to sign the 28 year old by offering €12m, which is in accordance of Milan’s asking price for the player. Gazzetta claim that Guarin has rejected offers from Zenit because he dreams of playing for bigger clubs like Manchester United or Juventus.

Guarin was heavily linked with a move to join Juventus last season. He was all set to undergo a medical in Turin, but the deal was cancelled at the last minute.

Inter have signed some very good players this season and Erick Thorir would be looking to keep hold of all his star players. The thing is, Manchester United hardly need a player like Guarin at the moment and no way they should make any move for him, despite knowing the unpredictable nature of the transfer window, where anything, and yes anything, is possible.

While Guarin’s dream of joining Juventus can come true, may be in future but securing a move to Old Trafford should remain his ‘day dream’ for now.
