Living and working away from wife and kids for any extended period is not ideal. If Chris Coleman intends to stay put in Spain (results permitting) he needs to normalise his situation asap and get his family out there.

Last week, poor Chris found himself in a nightclub on "Students' Night" until 5.00 in the morning; and then surprise, surprise managed to turn up to a press conference 90 minutes late. The waiting journalists were not amused, particularly when he spun a story about his washing machine having flooded etc. etc.

Senorettas, as every fit, hulking, dark handsome man (without wife and child) knows, can really screw things up for you (no pun intended). Keeping them off is such hard work. Eh, Chris? When's the missus coming out?

I think Coleman is a quality manager, tons better than Lawrie Sanchez. His problem is that he focuses too much on playing attractive, attacking football instead of also aiding the defense. I hope he does so, because I believe Real Sociedad can achieve what they achieved in 2002-03 if he works hard. Good luck, Chris.

Good luck to Chris Coleman in Spain. Following his story primarily due to Man City buying Javier Garrido from Sociedad in the summer, and it's good to see the talent transfer isn't all one way. Being somewhat ancient I remember a charging left-winger named Tony Coleman who played in City's trophy winning days at the end of the sixties/early seventies (won 4 in 3 years). Maybe Coleman by the name of Chris could inspire his new squad by showing them clips of a winning City side including Coleman by the name of Tony. Just an idea

Chris Coleman gave a good account of himself at Fulham but things spiral out of control during his last season in charge. With a change in environment, and more experience behind him, there is every chance of a John Toshack achievement at Sociedad.

The directors will have to stand behind him as the first few years are always the hardest.
