Manchester United and Barcelona have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Juventus’ Arturo Vidal after the Chilean commited his future to the Bianconeri.

Vidal has linked with a move away from Juventus since last summer, despite consistently stating his desire to remain in Turin.

The 26-year-old has now moved to put any lingering rumours to bed by firmly asserting his wish to stay at the club.

“I am going to stay at Juventus, I don’t listen to anything that is being said from Spain,” Vidal told Four Four Two,

“The president Agnelli has asked me to win the Champions League next season, and, as I have said many times, I am happy in Turin and my family is fine. For that reason I have no desire to listen to the speculation people are talking about.”

Interestingly, talkSport have claimed that Juventus are planning a shock swoop for former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba in the summer.

The Ivorian will be out of contract with Turkish side Galatasaray in June, and it is believed that manager Antonio Conte is a long term admirer of the powerful striker and is willing to bring him to Turin.

Meanwhile, French winger Jeremy Menez hinted to a possible move to Juventus after revealing his love for the Serie A leaders.

“Juve are a team that I really like. They are one of the strongest in Europe, destined to play a leading role in the Champions League,” he told ‘Gazzetta Dello Sport‘,

“The squad is full of quality, full of champions, even in my position. The years in Roma were important to me. I speak the language, I know the league. It would be easy to acclimatise,”

“Above all, I’m trying to find a team that allows me to express myself better. Let’s see what happens in June.”
