Matt – SWP, Pizarro, Ben Haim and Sidwell are more than capable of slotting in any Prem side and doing the job.

You have to keep in mind that the backups are never going to be of the same calibre and the best thing you can do is to have dependable players (and of course, HAVE backup players).

Chelsea have both.

I think Chelsea still lack adequate cover. Their first team is the strongest in the league. No question. But SWP, Pizarro, Ben Haim, Sidwell are nowhere near the same level and the African Nations combined with an injury crisis (which is perhaps inevitable given how many games Chelsea play and Mourinho’s reluctance to rotate) could throw their season.
