Will the Juan Mata circus ever stop this season? We don’t have any such indications of that happening. anytime soon.

Juan Mata

The Spaniard’s future was a regular fodder for press across Europe during the summer. He was linked with a move to almost all the big clubs of Europe, starting from English clubs Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool to Spanish giants Barcelona.

And just when Chelsea fans thought that finally the crazy rumours about his future will be over, it has resurfaced again. He has to be in the news.

Mata himself said/wrote in his blog for Grada360 that he couldn’t play much of Chelsea’s games this season due to injury and though he is itching to make up for lost time, concerns exist that he is not fully fit yet. The Spaniard has started twice this campaign in the league but was subbed at around the hour mark on both the occasions, which further fueled speculations about his future.

It was reported that Manchester City and Tottenham are interested in signing him and could lodge formal offers for him in the January transfer window.

Further, according to Daily Star, Serie A giants Juventus and Napoli are looking to add him to the squad and are targeting a January move for the 25-year-old. The English tabloid mentions Mundo Deportivo, a Spanish based newspaper as their source of information.

Well, Mata has been one of the key players of Chelsea last season but with Chelsea possessing an avalanche of attacking midfielders, there could be a possibility of him moving away, should he drop down the pecking orders at the London club.

Rafael Benitez has been a keen admirer of his talents. The former Valencia manager targeted him during his time at Liverpool and used him to full-effect during his short tenure at Chelsea as interim boss. However, there have been no reports linking him with Italian clubs in the Italian media so far.
