Former Juventus manager Fabio Capello has likened Chelsea’s transfer target Paul Pogba to current Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic, who played for the Old Lady between 2004 and 2006 before the Calciopoli scandal left the Turin giants in the doldrums, is one of the elite superstars in world football at the moment and Capello believes the highly-rated Pogba has the qualities to be like the Sweden legend.

But the Italian manager, who is currently without a job after being sacked as Russia’s manager earlier this summer, is of the opinion Pogba’s early season struggles have stemmed from added responsibility on the young Frenchman’s shoulders this season.

Pogba is the star in the current Juventus set-up after the summer departures of Carlos Tevez, Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal and the Old Lady have had to endure a difficult start to their 2015/16 campaign, winning none of their three league games so far.

Capello was speaking to Fox Sports, and was quoted as saying: “The Frenchman is feeling the weight of the responsibility placed on him.

“He is lacking the carefree attitude that he had in the past.

“However you can compare his abilites to Ibrahimovic.”

Pogba will be Juventus’ star turn when they travel to Manchester City Wednesday night to kick off their 2015/16 Champions League campaign. Last season’s runners-up will have most of their hopes pinned on their 22-year-old midfielder, who is one of the most sought-after players, with struggling Premier League giants Chelsea having registered their interest in him this summer.
