Chelsea have opened contract talks with their Brazilian star Willian.

The Chelsea midfielder has been in sensational form this season and the Premier League champions are hoping to reward him with a new deal.

Willian signed for the London outfit back in 2013 and the 27 year old has established himself as one of Chelsea’s best players this season.

Willian has been the only bright spark in what has been a catastrophic season for Chelsea so far. The Brazilian has chipped in with several crucial goals from free-kicks to earn his side some much needed points.

Willian’s current deal is worth around £80,000 a week and is due to expire in 2018. Chelsea are prepared to offer him a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2020 and will take his pay to £100,000 a week.

According to Standard, Chelsea have already begun talks with the player and his representatives and a renewal is just a matter of time. An announcement will be made when the player has put pen to paper.

Chelsea fans will be delighted with the news that their cub is working towards retaining one of their best players.

Willian’s compatriots Oscar and Ramires have signed new deals at the club and it seems he is next in line.
