Chelsea Transfers: Midfielder set for Exit, Ba makeweight for Colombian?
Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is more-or-less certain to leave the club in the January transfer window. What remains unclear is – where will he go, as he has plenty of suitors and secondly will it be a temporary move or a permanent one?
Evening Standard reported couple of days back that De Bruyne’s agent met Chelsea manager and officials and told them that the Belgian wants to leave the club to gain more regular football. The 22-year-old is worried about his place in the Belgian team for the World Cup next summer and is looking for a move on a permanent basis.
Mourinho rates the midfielder highly but cannot guarantee him regular first team football. According to the report, the Blues are exploring loan options as well and will want in the region of £12.5m, should they sell him permanently. La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid are keen on a loan deal, but De Bruyne is not interested.
The Mirror reports that De Bruyne’s agent has discussed a £12.5million January move to Bayer Leverkusen, as the midfielder is keen to return to Germany, where he was on loan last year with Werder Bremen.
Chelsea striker Demba Ba is another who could be leaving the club in the winter transfer window. The Senegal international who has dropped down the pecking orders at the club has distanced himself from any possible move to Arsenal.
