Chelsea target claims he supports Arsenal; Also wears Gunners’ kit

According to reports from French Media outlet Le 10 Sport, Chelsea have keen interest in VFB Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger. Despite the Blues having a strong defensive line, the Stamford Bridge side could look to sign the German in the upcoming transfer window.

However, the 21 year old had made it no secret that he is in fact a huge Arsenal fan! Rudiger claims that his heart always beats for the Gunners and in fact also wears the kit of the North London side. “I always dreamed of the Premier League. I am Arsenal since the time of Theirry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp . I look all the time for videos of Arsenal on YouTube and I often wear the jersey of Alexis Sanchez . My heart beats for Arsenal.”

Stuttgart manager Armin Veh is also apprehensive about his side’s prospects on keeping hold of their prized asset. Rudiger has a contract with the Bundesliga club till 2017 but Veh has claimed that should a big club comes calling it will be tough to reject offers for teh player. “Antonio is under contract until 2017. But how long will we keep such a player? I know there are big clubs that follow, but a transfer will be considered only if it joined a very big club. Otherwise, it would be better for him to stay here”

In reality it should be Arsenal not Chelsea who should move for the youngster. The Stamford Bridge outfit have Kurt Zouma as an option apart from the firs choice pairing of John Terry and Gary Cahill and Serbian Branislav Ivanovic can also play in the centre of the defense if required. It should be Arsenal who should be on the lookout to sign the player in the upcoming transfer window. The Gunners are in dire need to strengthen their defense and a move for Rudiger should materialize quite easily. Moreover, he would available for a cut price deal and will also be eager to join to make his ‘dream’ move.
