Chelsea scouting Rennes forward Ousmane Dembele

French club Rennes have confirmed that Chelsea officials were present during their match with Marseille.

Earlier this season it was reported that Chelsea are scouting the French wonderkid from Rennes, Ousmane Dembele and it is believed that the Blues were running the rule over the young forward again this week.

Dembele is one of the most highly rated young talents in Ligue 1 and has attracted a lot of interest from several clubs including Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea need to add goals to their side this season and it makes sense that they are scouting a talented wide forward in Dembele.

Pedro, the 28 million euro signing from Barcelona has failed to deliver since his move to Stamford Bridge and if Chelsea decide to move for Dembele, the Spaniard’s place in the team could be under serious threat.

Although Dembele is still a very young player and needs to develop, he could inject some much needed pace and flair to the Chelsea attack.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea follow up on their scouting mission with a formal offer soon.
