Chelsea are willing to break the bank for Borussia Dortmund striker and long term Arsenal target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese striker has been in sensational form since last season and is being courted by several European heavyweights.

Arsene Wenger is though to be an admirer of the Dortmund forward and was looking to do a deal next summer.

However it seems that Mourinho is now trying to hijack a move and bring him to Chelsea.

Dortmund were unwilling to get rid of their main goalscorer last summer and but are open to moving him on for the right price in 2016.

The German outfit are thought to be holding out for 42 million pounds and Chelsea are more than happy to oblige.

According to Fichajes, Roman Abramovich has given his blessings regarding the transfer and the Blues could make a formal offer soon.

Chelsea have struggled to score goals this season and Aubameyang is one of the most prolific strikers in Europe at the moment.

A move for the Borussia Dortmund man makes perfect sense. Furthermore, the Gabon international is at the peak of his powers now and can offer his best form at Chelsea for the next few years.

With the new TV deal kicking in next season, the quoted fee is merely a drop in the ocean for the Premier League champions.
