Chelsea are closing in on another January sale after Juventus’ move for Juan Cuadrado.

This time the highly rated Belgian midfielder Charly Musonda could be on his way out of Chelsea.

The attacking midfielder is highly rated by the Chelsea academy staff but the lack of first team chances could forced him to consider offers from other clubs.

Musonda is a target for Monaco and the French club tried their luck with a 10 million pound bid earlier in the summer.

Although the Premier League champions turned it down and Musonda extended his contract, the situation has now changed.

Musonda believes he is ready for some first team action which is understandably hard to come by at Chelsea. Mourinho’s team are already struggling and are in no position to experiment with a teenager.

Furthermore, the player’s father has urged his son to leave Chelsea and has also confirmed that Monaco are desperate to sign him.

‘He must absolutely leave Chelsea and, since January, Monaco have been trying to sign him. Monaco are not alone but they truly want him.

‘He’s not had a specific discussion with Jose Mourinho yet but he’s trained regularly with the first team. He often watches his friend Eden Hazard. He plays an important role for Charly with his advice. My son does not want to copy his style but develop his own.

‘Chelsea don’t want him [to go back to Belgium]. They want Charly to play in a good team in a big league. He must play for a first team. He progresses every day but he must develop further’ he said.

After their recent influx of money, Monaco have changed their philosophy and are now relying on youth to take the club forward. Musonda would be an ideal addition for them after the sales of Martial and Carrasco.

It is believed that Monaco are readying another offer for Musonda in January and this time Chelsea might be forced to sell. Especially if the player decides to force a move.

As for the player, he is more likely to get first team chances with the French outfit which would only aid his development.
