Chelsea have finally agreed a fee with Fiorentina for Juan Cuadrado having chased the winger throughout January.

The Times have confirmed the Premier League leaders will pay £26.3 million for the 26-year old, matching his reported €35 million buy-out clause.

We reported yesterday morning that the transfer was likely to go ahead after reliable Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that Chelsea were closing in on the deal.

Fiorentina had been unwilling to sell the Colombian for less than €35 million and their stubbornness has proven profitable as Chelsea appear to have given up bartering for less than the initial desired amount.

The Blues will pay the Serie A side an initial £23.3 million up front with a further £3 million based on appearances and success, the Times have reported.

Chelsea will be funding the acquisition of Juan Cuadrado with the £23 million received from the sale of André Schürrle to VfL Wolfsburg.

The German had performed poorly for the Blues this season, frustrating fans for being wasteful in front of goal.

He returns to his homeland but will not feature in tonight’s game between Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich as the second half of the 2014-15 German Bundesliga resumes on Friday.

The pacey forward will be hoping to make a big impact for the Wolves as he previously did at both Mainz 05 and Bayer 04 Leverkusen that led him to becoming José Mourinho’s first signing in his second spell at Stamford Bridge.

Schürrle assisted Mario Götze’s winning goal in last summer’s World Cup final with a run down the left wing and a pinpoint cross to find his teammate despite having two defenders on him.
