This season Chelsea have sent five promising youngsters to Dutch club Vitesse on loan so that they get regular games under their belt. The arrangement has been beneficial for all parties, and Vitesse are now looking the extend their loan deals for at least another season.

“We are now discussing this with Chelsea,” Allach told Dutch website Soccernews when asked about the potential arrangement. “It’s been with us for quite some time this topic of conversation.

“These are guys who are still at a young age and with us get experience. It would be better for the players and for Vitesse if we can keep the players. That is our goal.”

Of the five players out on loan at the Gelredome, only Lewis Baker and striker Dominic Solanke have impressed. They have made 20 and 19 appearances for the Dutch club respectively.

All the five players are scheduled to return to Stamford Bridge this summer but Vitesse want them to stay for one more season, insisting such system would benefit all parties involved.

Danilo Pantic and Nathan haven’t had much success with Vitesse, with the Brazilian missing a lot of games from November to January through injury.

To be fair, none of these players are good enough to play for the Chelsea first team at the moment, and therefore another year at the Dutch club would be ideal for their development.
