Kickoff: 20:00 GMT

Everton Preview

Everton exposed Chelsea frailties from set-pieces the last time the two sides met in an entertaining 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Two of the Toffees’ goals came from free-kicks, while the other stemmed from a throw-in – reasons for in-form midfielder Tim Cahill to have an added spring in his already impressive step.

The Australian has scored two headed goals in three games, while Louis Saha has fired two goals in two matches against Chelsea and is looking for his 100th league strike in an Everton shirt.

Everton will be without influential midfielder Steven Pienaar after the South African was sent off in the Merseyside derby defeat at Liverpool. Marouane Fellaini is out with a swollen ankle, so fit-again Mikel Arteta could make his first start for a year.

Chelsea Preview

On the pitch, 2010 has started brightly for Chelsea. They are the only Premier League side not to have lost a match in any competition so far this calendar year.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have scored 22 goals in seven games in all competitions to answer questions about their title-winning credentials, mental state, and strength of their squad.

Under-pressure Chelsea skipper John Terry has recovered from the dead leg he sustained against Arsenal. Michael Essien, Juliano Belletti and Jose Bosingwa are all out with knee problems, Deco also has a knee concern.

Everton v Chelsea Predictions

Each of the last three Premier League games between the sides have ended in draws: 3-3 earlier this season, following on from two goalless draws last term.
