Chelsea drop points, again!!!

Written by Guest Authors. Tagged: Aston Villa - Chelsea

Chelsea have dropped points for the third consecutive match, this time to the hands of Aston Villa.

Chelsea failed to take advantage of Manchester United’s New Year’s Day draw with Newcastle and are six points adrift of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side after the completion of the festive fortnight.

Chelsea managed to stop conceding goals but they also, for the first time this season, failed to score.

Leading premier league goalscorer, Didier Drogba, stuffed-up the champions best chance in the opening minutes and couldn’t manage to get any better for the remainder of the game.

Overall Chelsea showed desire but lacked penetration, and Aston Villa’s rearguard performance must be commended for not allowing Chelsea any space to capitalise.

SoccerLens Ratings:

Aston Villa - 9/10, spent 95% of the match defending 30 shots with 25 on target, they did a great job.

Chelsea - 7/10, they spent 95% of the match attacking and nothing came with it, no goals, nothing. They could have sneaked in afew when your attacking like that for such a long time.
