Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas ready to leave Stamford Bridge

Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas has revealed that he is ready to complete a permanent transfer away from Stamford Bridge if the opportunity presents itself.

Kalas has spent the last 16 months on loan at Middlesbrough and has been a regular first team member at Riverside. The talented young defender is determined to continue his progress and will make the switch permanent in order to play regularly.

Middlesbrough have not made an offer so far and Kalas is not forcing a move, but there is no doubt that a move away from Chelsea will do the player a world of good. A player of his age is unlikely to get many chances at Chelsea.

The Blues will look to sign more established internationals at the back with Zouma injured and Terry regressing.

Kalas made his Chelsea debut against Liverpool back in 2013 and put on a fantastic display as Jose Mourinho’s team ended the Reds’ title race with a 2-0 win at Anfield.

Kalas told the Evening Gazette: “I don’t know how many games I’ve played since I came – probably around 40, which is not bad in one and a half years.”

“That’s why I came here, to play games and hopefully I’ll keep playing next season – maybe here.”

“If I could get the deal to move to Boro permanently, I would really think about it. Yes, why not?”

Meanwhile in other news, Chelsea have agreed a stunning 78 million Euro kit deal with Nike.

The Blues ended their association with Adidas earlier this month and have now struck a deal with Nike which will see them double their earnings from kit sponsorship.

The new deal kicks in at the end of next season. Adidas are currently paying 30 million pounds to Chelsea per season.

The report from Daily Mail states that Chelsea were frustrated with Adidas’ focus towards Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juventus. Furthermore, the deal was struck in order to compensate for the loss of Champions League football as well.

Chelsea are going to lose out on around 40 million pounds because of failing to finish in top four and the Nike deal will balance the books.
