Juve and Inter set for summer battle in signing PSG playmaker Adrien Rabiot
The teenager’s contract with the Ligue 1 champions runs down in the summer of 2015 and has rejected a chance to sign a new deal. PSG are looking to cash in on the player in this summer transfer window, rather than letting the player leave for nothing after the end of the next season.
Earlier we reported that Rabiot has long been a transfer target for the Gunners as their French manager Arsene Wenger was keen on securing a deal for the midfielder. The Emirates club’s London rivals Chelsea are also in the frame for securing a deal for the player.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the English clubs are set to face competition in signing the Frenchman from Serie A clubs. Juventus were keen on signing the 19-year-old, but it is Inter Milan who have now taken the lead for Rabiot’s signature.
The Premier League clubs’ hope of signing Rabiot looks very slim as the two Italian clubs are set to enter a summer battle – with PSG and the player also playing a role in the transfer.
The situation is that the French capital club want to sell Rabiot to Inter as PSG have very good relationship with Erick Thohir. However, the player wants to join the Serie A winners, having already agreed a deal with the Turin club.
This could get better over the weekend as the Italian report claims the decision over Rabiot’s future will be taken on Monday. If there could be any further developments from either Inter or Juventus, that could help either of the side to land the playmaker.
