Tottenham midfielder Paulinho might be on his way to Chelsea

Paulinho Spurs AI 2610649b Tottenham midfielder agrees to join Chelsea

If the latest reports from Brazil are to be believed, in an astonishing turn of events, Chelsea are to land Tottenham’s Brazilian midfielder Paulinho in the summer.

Bruno Acarde of Lancenet was the first reporter who broke the news that Paulinho would be joining Tottenham last summer; and to make things even more interesting, the 25 year old has the same agent (Giuliano Bertolucci) as Chelsea’s Brazilian contingent of David Luiz, Oscar and Ramires.

Bertolucci is believed to be the mastermind behind the move:

It is believed Chelsea have fended off interest from AC Milan and Champions League finalists Real Madrid for Paulinho’s signature, and will complete the move in the summer. Lancenet have also claimed that the move would be announced after the World Cup.

Paulinho has been at loggerheads with Tim Sherwood for months, who had earlier declared that no player would be picked in the starting eleven based on reputation. The Brazilian has featured in 32 appearances for Tottenham this season, scoring five goals besides grabbing a couple of assists.

Should Chelsea wrap up the deal, manager Jose Mourinho would be able to field Paulinho, Matic and Ramires in what would be a solid and a balanced midfield for the London side.

Meanwhile, Belgium newspaper Sportwereld claims that Spurs may be interested in a swap deal for Paulinho, with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku joining White Hart Lane.

  1. Hardly outstanding for spuds don’t believe

  2. if spurs would get Lukaku i would like that swap..

  3. Very good deal it is..if spurs will go for Lukaku I think is gon be a great deal..

  4. PAULINHO HAS NOT IMPRESSED AT SPURS.EVERYTHING IS UPSIDE DOWN AT SPURS.THEY ARE NOT PROFFESSIONAL AND IT SHOWS.A SERIES OF POOR MANAGERS SINCE BILLY NICK.POOR COACHING.THE LATEST OWNER WHO IS A SPURS SUPPORTER,BEFORE HE BOUGHT THE CLUB MUST REALIZE SPURS NEED MAJOR OVERHAUL.THROW OUT THE DEADWOOD/.BRING IN PROVEN PROS LIKE DE BOER AND HE SHOULD BRING IN HIS OWN TRAINERS.DUTCH FOOTBALL HAS A LOT TO TEACH UK PLAYERS AS REGARDS SKILLS ON THE BALL,AND TACTICS.I SAW GREAT FOOTBALL UNDER BILLY NICK.SPURS FANS DESERVE TO HAVE GLORY AGAIN.

  5. What a load of rubbish. I would think that Daniel Levy would sanction any sale of his clubs players. “Paulinho has been at loggerheads with Sherwood for months” – says who? Total fabrication of a story. If there was a swap deal on offer for Lukaku then do the deal otherwise stop writing such drivel.

  6. Bollock bollocks bollocks – utter toss ! where do you get these stories from

  7. Really, do you guys honestly think that Levy can sell Paulinho to Chelsea?

  8. Look guys, it’s total made up bullshit by the Daily Star as per usual and the blogs/sheep follow on. If Spurs do part company with Arrys stepson Dim Deadwood, we all know that the Board will not sanction the sale or purchase of players until the new man assesses the squad at his disposal. All the so called news about players coming and going at Spurs is just plain simple bullshit and nothing else, generally dreamt up by tossers masquerading as journalist. Another point worth bearing in mind is that Levy will no longer sell Spurs stars to clubs they believe to be strong opposition in the EPL having learnt his lesson with the sale of Carrick and Berbatov to ManU and especially Chelsea, remember the Modric saga of a few years ago. I’m also sure that the Spurs board wouldn’t have forgotten the smug smile on the face of the clown prince when he snatched the Brazilian Robinsons jam jar model from us last Summer. Food for thought when reading these articles.

    • Ray, I hope you’re blessed with two big eyes to check the sources given in the article. We have covered the story based on reports in Brazil/Tweets from a reputed Brazilian journalist.

If you don’t have the time to read the opening line of the article “If the latest reports from Brazil are to be believed” why bother even wasting your time and space here?

  9. That will certainly be a good signing considering the fact that david luiz is not a natural central midfield player.
