No Champions League Money? No problem – Man Utd have other ideas

Share

Manchester United are struggling horribly this season under new manager David Moyes. They are out of domestic cup competitions, title race and now even top four challenge seems a difficult task at the moment.

Trailing Liverpool, who are in fourth position, by 11 points, there is a genuine danger that the Red Devils might not finish in top four this season.

And even there are no guarantees that United will qualify for the Europa League. The situation might get complicated, if Sunderland win the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City tomorrow. This will allow the Black Cats a guaranteed entry into the Europa League next season.

The club would certainly enter into discussions about playing number of friendly matches abroad to offset the cost of having no European football, which could be as much as £25 million.

Manchester United has earlier visited Dubai this year for warm-weather training camps and Qatar and Saudi Arabia before, however, it will be a new experience for them to play money-spinning friendlies with other teams during the course of the season, just for the sake of generating revenues.

The Times reports that the club is exploring all possible means of earning revenues and announced yesterday that hey would show their final pre-season friendly, against AIK Solna, in the summer on pay-per-view.

  1. glazer family should axe Moye before is too late for Manchester United fc.

    • Glazer Family paved d way for MAN U fall the moment they decided to imploy a coach who has presided over a club side in the same league for 12 years without lifting a trophy or even finishing 4th for once.

  2. Wow! Desperate times for my club, MUFC. I believe if we do the right thing, I mean, get all the leaches and deadwoods out (Young (sell), Valencia (sell) Cleverley(either sell or loan out),Evra (sell), Ferdinand (retire), Vidic (sell – both pair have enjoyed a blissful career so far, we thank them), Chicharito (I feel for him but he has to consider his future elsewhere), Kagawa (back to Dortmund, it’s unfortunate though) and sign at least 5 world class players (a centre back, left back, and 3 powerful, box to box defensive and holding midfielders). Fletcher and Carrick should be given very limited time, both can only complement the other midfielders that would do the real job. I believe with this, we can get back to the top and become feared by other teams as we’ve always been.

  3. The players won’t give the effort for Moyes. His Tactics are at the under 21 level which is why even the teams near relegation control the majority of play. Only Hernandez seems to get regular goals, but thats because he is mainly a poacher (not a bad thing). Why would all those big stars want to come to this team? Because of it’s glorious past? Moyes cannot get top flight internationals to play together with any enthusiasm. Which they all have a history of being able to do – thats why they are at ManU. He is ill fit in this role.
    DUMP HIM NOW!

  4. Everyone says sack moyes , but who would replace him? Manchester united aren’t the sort of organisation to buy managers out of there contracts , just look how they dealt with moyes , they waited for his contract to run out instead of getting him in earlier and bonding with the team ect , no decent manager will come to united because apart from rvp rooney and mata theres no world class players , I say give moyes time to create his own team , the team he has is fergies ,need a whole new defense , wingers and a cdm like khedira
